Intersegmental Traction
in Corsicana
Do you suffer from back pain caused by problems like herniated or bulging discs, spinal stenosis, radiculopathy or degenerative disc disease? Maybe you’ve been told you’ll have to go under the knife for your condition. If you’re looking for a non-invasive treatment option that can provide long-lasting relief without the use of surgery or drugs, consider intersegmental traction at Corsicana Chiropractic. Intersegmental traction is a therapeutic massage technique that has been used to relieve pain in the spine due to various conditions.
How It Works
You’ll lie on your back on our special table, which has rollers just below the surface. When you’re ready to begin, we’ll turn the table on and these rollers will move up and down, pushing on your back gently.
As the rollers push on the spinal joints, they create space between the vertebrae and stretch out the muscles of your back. There are tiny muscles around each joint and long muscles that run the entire length of your back, and stretching these helps reduce tension on the joints.
In addition, as the rollers push on the joints, moisture is pumped into the discs. This fluid is what they need to be healthy, so intersegmental traction may be effective in promoting disc healing and repair.
Our Approach: What to Expect
At Corsicana Chiropractic, we see many people with disc issues or tightness in the muscles of the back that cause pain and interfere with doing normal activities. Dr. Eeds will conduct an examination and determine an appropriate care plan for these conditions, which may include intersegmental traction in addition to customized chiropractic adjustments.
Do I Have to Be a Chiropractic Patient?
We offer all of our therapies as stand-alone services, and Dr. Eeds only recommends what you need for your specific condition. If intersegmental traction can benefit you, she’ll let you know. Each session is about 15 minutes.
